About the Author

She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. After graduating from college, she served as a patrol officer and later a corporal in a specialized drug suppression unit in a Metro Atlanta area police Department. Before leaving the force she was a Domesti Violence/sex crimes investigator for over four years. A strong advocate for domestic violence, Natalie Simone has educated and trained countless police officers and citizens in the community, and has compiled training manuals on domestic violence that have been used for training purposes in several organizations.

Natalie Simone is a resident of Atlanta, Georgia. she was born in Brooklyn,NY to Trinidadian parents. She lived in Trinidad until age 17 at which time she moved with her family to New Jersey and then to Georgia where she attended the University of Georgia, earning a Bachelors Degree in Psychology.
